Graduated licensing has
placed restrictions on drivers attempting to become familiar
and experienced with safe handling practices on our major
freeways and cogested city roads. Give your child the opportunity
to learn safe practices before being subjected to the roadways
and conditions in which they have never had opportunity to
experience.
The on track
exercises include a simple slalom through a series of pylons,
a rapid lane change, obstacle avoidance, emergency dry braking
and emergency wet braking, concluding with another slalom
and emergency stop on the graveled area of the paddock.
Students
are first be taken through the full range of exercises as
passengers with an instructor at the wheel, prior to them
taking control of the vehicle themselves. The students would
then proceed through the exercises at city traffic speeds
to gain familiarity of the exercises and a feel for the dynamics
of the vehicle, building up speed with consecutive runs to
a comfort zone at highway speed.
